an assessment

The journey goes on, etc, etc. Perhaps one day I will become a celebrated writer. Perhaps one day I shall dream such a fecund dream that my sleep will stretch over universes unending.

When we're not looking, goblins cut up our visions of the future & paste them back together willy-nilly. Etc, etc.

The desire to come here often and write has waned. Other desires compete for my attention. The Internet is still a wonderful cacophonous collision that dazzles me every time I merely dip a toe into it. (Social bookmarks! At last it is unnecessary to say anything about the cookie-crumb trail of sites I visit besides a handful of keywords. All the babbling about journalism was mere pretense and second-handing, you know. If only there were more options for bulk importing.) But the net is, after all, merely a reflection of the wonderful cacophony of the broader, brighter, more luscious & dangerous world, whose vortices have snared me in ways I did not know existed.

So I go. Do excuse me for a moment, perhaps a very long one, whilst I go looking for paradise on earth. Full steam ahead through hell and banality to the revolutionary imperfection of the ordinary moment. Or some rot.
